About this event

Warri Kingdom marked the fifth anniversary of the coronation of Ogiame Atuwatse III from 14 to 23 August 2026. The theme was "Global Homecoming: celebrating our cultural renaissance, unity and transformational progress".

The programme opened with a praise day at Nana College, Warri, on 14 August and the Warri Unity Games at Federal Government College, Warri, on 15 August. Regatta day, with homage from communities along the Ode-Itsekiri axis, was on 20 August, and the main celebration day on 21 August.

Across the ten days there were cultural displays, exhibitions of family heirlooms, a bike and scooter competition and an Itsekiri language competition for children, at both Ode-Itsekiri and Warri.

Part of the Olu of Warri coronation anniversary, held every August.
